RetireOne co-founder and Chief Technology Officer R. Scott Strait, Ph.D., recently co-authored a research paper with RetireOne’s Mark Forman that addresses the changing economic landscape and its impacts on retirement withdrawals. The paper, “Managing Client Risks in Retirement with Guaranteed Living Withdrawal Benefits” was among the finalists selected for this year’s FPA Academic Research competition.
Scott will present their research on next-gen annuities as potential sources for lifetime income and an alternative measure for assessing their relative value as methods for decumulation on October 1 at 3:30PM EDT at the 2020 FPA Annual conference.
This year’s event will be virtual. In a statement about the planned format, the association said, “FPA’s first priority is the health, safety and well-being of our members and everyone involved with our events. Due to the uncertainty, health and safety concerns, and delayed re-opening of some of our contracted properties, FPA has made the decision to hold FPA Annual Conference 2020 digitally from September 30 to Oct. 2.”
Of Scott’s abstract submission, Journal of Financial Planning Editor Ana Trujillo Limón said, “There were many high-quality submissions vying for only 9 available presentation slots and your abstract, ‘Retirement Reassured: Managing Client Risks in Retirement with Guaranteed Living Withdrawal Benefits’ was among those selected!”
Join us on October 1st when Scott shares this valuable retirement research.
